Taipei, Taiwan – The “Taipei Net-Zero 101” three-year initiative, spearheaded by the Taipei City Government, Taipei Chamber of Commerce, and Mobii Green Energy Group, unveiled its latest milestone: the launch of the Smart Recycling Machine on November 22. The event was held at the Yuen Foong Yu Centennial Better Choice Event Area and garnered strong support from the Taipei City Government, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Civil Affairs, as well as district and neighborhood representatives, collectively advancing green communities to achieve Mayor of Taipei Chiang Wan-An’s 2030 target of a 40% carbon reduction.
The newly launched Smart Recycling Machine integrates flexible solar technology and is designed to recycle PET bottles, aluminum cans, and used batteries. Users are rewarded with stored value directly credited to their EasyCard. The recycled materials are further transformed into eco-friendly souvenirs for governments and corporations, providing a practical solution for ESG carbon reduction.

The launch event was attended by notable guests, including Minister of Environment Peng Chi-Ming, Deputy Minister of Transportation Lin Kuo-Shian, Director General of Civil Aviation Administration Ho Shu-Ping, Deputy Mayor of Taipei City Chang Wen-Te, Taipei City Government Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Hsu Shih-Hsun, Assistant Commissioner Chiu Yi-liu, alongside Yfy Inc Chairman Yeh Hui-Ching and Taipei neighborhood representatives. Guests experienced the functionalities of the Smart Recycling Machine and expressed strong support for expanding the pilot program. Cai Meng-Yu, Secretary-General of Ministry of Environment, proposed the development of a recycling methodology that generates carbon credits, fostering green economic value and ensuring sustainable operations.

The initiative’s first phase involves installing the machines in Neihu’s Zhoumei Community, PX Mart supermarkets, and University of Taipei, creating pilot zones for “Green Communities,” “Green Supermarkets,” and “Green Universities.” The second phase will expand to Taipei Dome and Songshan Airport, establishing “Green Venues” and “Green Transportation” hubs while increasing recycling points. Kenny Tseng suggested integrating environmental green points with recycling incentives to encourage participation from businesses, communities, and schools in green living practices.

Additionally, Mobii Green Energy showcased a hydrogen-fueled generator at the event, announcing the December launch of the world’s first mobile green hydrogen data center demonstration site. This groundbreaking initiative pioneers a mobile hydrogen production model and accelerates the integration and development of Taiwan’s green hydrogen supply chain.
The Smart Recycling Machine launch marks a significant milestone in the “Taipei Net-Zero 101” initiative, exemplifying the fusion of green living and technological innovation on the journey toward a sustainable future.
